“2 Live and Die in LA” is a special, community art festival and exhibit that will bring the greatest and up and coming artists in our local community together for an art festival and exhibit. This is an art festival that celebrates true local culture through art, as presented in different mediums and platforms. The 5th annual 2 Live and Die in L.A. is a show that preserves our rich Los Angeles history. It serves as a voice and artistic visualization for our working class and shows the true beauty of our struggle from every corner of Los Angeles. A noteworthy side effect of this show is the fact that we are bridging the gap between the local art world, and local up and coming talent.
This is the first show in Los Angeles history which allows many young artists- some as young as 14 to have the opportunity to have their work displayed in such an event, and with artists of an extremely high caliber. A lot of these are regarded as huge influencers to these young local artists. This creates an extremely motivating experience for these artists to strive for their dreams.
This year the founder of the show Frankie Orozco decided to create an annual mentorship program for the youth of LA he chose five young adults ages ranging from 14 to 20 years old who have a passion for photography who really wanted to learn the craft of what it takes to be a photographer. He also teamed up with Samy’s camera they were gracious enough to sponsor the mentorship program and Canon cameras gifted all five of the mentees with brand new cameras
Another extremely important part of this event is our vendors. Los Angeles has become a very difficult place for the working class to live with the price of living forever climbing. So many young entrepreneurs have taken the jump by investing in themselves, starting their own businesses and brands as entrepreneurs in the hopes of living their own version of the American Dream. It’s events like this that gives them the opportunity for growth for their business, building of their business enterprises, and to reach the community at large in which they live- in a more meaningful way. Brining the community together for an amazing day of good art, food, music, and community is our mission for this event.
